• Streamside alders lead the way to Oak Camp ( 4, 550 feet ), which is shaded by interior live oaks and frequented by flying insects.
• And that blue, black and interior live oaks are the predominate trees on the open, grassy slopes of lower Mill Creek Canyon in the Ishi Wilderness east of Red Bluff.
• The plant community here is an inland central oak woodland dominated by valley oak ( Quercus lobata ), blue oak ( Quercus douglasii ), interior live oak ( Quercus wislizenii ), and gray pine ( Pinus sabiniana ).
